# Profile settings

> Manage your personal profile and your firm's profile in Audity.

Audity has two distinct profile areas: your **personal profile** (managed by Clerk) and your **firm profile** (managed inside Audity). They serve different purposes and are edited in different places.

## Personal profile

Your personal profile, name, email address, profile photo, and password, is managed through **Clerk**, the identity provider Audity uses for authentication.

To edit your personal profile:

1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner of any Audity page.
2. The **User** modal opens (powered by Clerk).
3. Update your name, email, or profile photo and save.

  Audity does not store a separate copy of your personal profile fields. Changes made in the Clerk modal take effect immediately across all Audity sessions.

## Firm profile

Your firm profile holds information about your consulting practice. Audity uses these details throughout the product to personalise deliverables, tailor AI prompts, and pre-fill client-facing documents.

To edit your firm profile:

1. Go to **Dashboard → Settings → Business context** (`/dashboard/settings/business-context`).
2. Fill in the fields described below.
3. Click **Save**.

| **Firm name**              | Deliverable headers, stakeholder memos, report footers                 |
| **Industry focus**         | AI prompts, helps Audity tailor analysis to your sector                |
| **Services offered**       | Survey and questionnaire generation, scopes questions to your practice |
| **Typical client profile** | AI prompts, calibrates tone and depth of deliverables                  |
| **Value proposition**      | Stakeholder memos, used when framing recommendations to clients        |
| **Additional context**     | General AI context window for all audit-related generation             |

Keeping your firm profile complete and up to date improves the relevance and quality of every AI-generated output.
