# Project dashboard

> Navigate the project dashboard and understand your position in the audit lifecycle.

## What this is

The project dashboard is the home view for a single audit engagement. It shows your current position in the 13-step lifecycle, surfaces the next required action, displays a summary of completed steps, and gives you access to all project resources. Every audit begins and ends on the project dashboard.

## Before you start

* A project must exist. If you have not created one yet, see [Project setup](/guide/run-an-audit/project-setup).
* The dashboard is accessible to anyone on your workspace who has been granted access to the project (Team and Enterprise plans).

## Procedure

### Reading the dashboard

1. Navigate to **Projects** and click a project name to open its dashboard.
2. The dashboard has three main areas:

**Lifecycle stepper (left panel)**
A vertical list of all 13 steps, each with a status badge:

* **Complete** (green check), step finished and confirmed.
* **In progress** (blue), step has some content but is not yet confirmed.
* **Locked** (grey lock), prerequisites not met; cannot be started yet.
* **Available** (white), prerequisites met; ready to begin.
* **Attention** (yellow warning), step had an issue (e.g. analysis timed out).

Click any unlocked step to navigate directly to it.

**Summary cards (centre)**
A set of cards showing key metrics from completed steps:

* Opportunities identified.
* Documents uploaded and analysed.
* Interview records.
* Framework scores (as a radar chart thumbnail).
* Estimated total ROI.

**Activity feed (right panel)**
A chronological log of all events in the project: analysis runs, document uploads, memo generations, team member actions (Team/Enterprise), and system events.

### Navigating the lifecycle

* Click **Continue** (the primary action button) to jump to the next available step automatically.
* Click any step name in the lifecycle stepper to navigate directly to that step.
* Use the **breadcrumb** at the top of each step page to return to the dashboard.

### Managing the project

* Click **Project settings** (gear icon, top right) to edit the project name, client profile link, or archive the project.
* Click **Share** (Team/Enterprise only) to invite workspace members to collaborate on the project.
* Click **Export** to jump directly to the [deliverables hub](/guide/run-an-audit/deliverables).

## Limits and gating

* Dashboard access requires an active project. Archived projects are read-only.
* The Activity feed retains the last 500 events per project.
* **Solo plan:** Dashboard is personal; no sharing controls are shown.
* **Team / Enterprise:** Collaborators added via Share can view and edit the project. Admin role is required to archive or delete a project.

## Common issues

**A step I completed is showing as "Available" rather than "Complete".**
Some steps require an explicit confirmation action (e.g. "Confirm ROI calculations", "Finalise report"). Return to the step and look for a confirmation button.

**The "Continue" button is taking me to the wrong step.**
Continue always points to the earliest incomplete step. If you want to work on a different step, click it directly in the lifecycle stepper.

**Activity feed is empty.**
Activity is logged from the point the project was created. Projects migrated from an earlier version of Audity may not have historical activity data.

**A collaborator can see the project but cannot edit it.**
The collaborator may have been added with view-only access. A project admin needs to change their permission level under **Project settings → Team**.

## What's next

If you are starting a new project, begin with [project setup](/guide/run-an-audit/project-setup). If you have an existing project in progress, use the lifecycle stepper to continue from where you left off.
